IKEA India has announced a major leadership change with the appointment of Patrik Antoni as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 2025. Antoni brings over two decades of experience with IKEA, including key roles in India and global markets, positioning him to drive the company’s expansion and sustainability goals in the country.
Experienced Leader to Head IKEA India
Patrik Antoni has been an integral part of IKEA’s journey in India, serving as Deputy CEO for five years. He played a crucial role in launching IKEA’s first store in Hyderabad and has led IKEA’s operations in Russia. His deep expertise in retail management and sustainability will be pivotal as IKEA India continues to expand its footprint.
Leadership Transition Marks New Chapter
The leadership change follows the resignation of Susanne Pulverer, who stepped down after 28 years with IKEA, including over eight years in India across multiple tenures. Pulverer’s departure marks the conclusion of an influential leadership period, with Antoni taking over to build on her legacy.
IKEA India’s Growing Presence
IKEA India currently operates large-format stores in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru, along with a city store in Mumbai’s Worli area. The company offers wide delivery coverage across Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, making its products accessible to millions.
Focus on Sustainability and Expansion
As CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer, Antoni is expected to strengthen IKEA India’s commitment to sustainable retail practices while steering growth in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
